Somehow coloring books became a really big deal all over the world in the last couple years. In my quest to spend more and more time unplugged and away from screens, I bought my first adult coloring book a little over three months ago. It promised to provide an activity which didn’t require any technology and was supposed to be meditative and relaxing.
One random weeknight after work, when I had a lot going on in my head, I sat down and started filling in the little shapes. Circles, squares, triangles spread across large pages, aligned in the incredibly detailed, beautiful patterns somehow kept me engaged for hours.
It was beautiful and charming, and surprisingly very relaxing.
You can look up and read about this stuff all over the internet – how and why, with research and what not- or you can just go ahead, buy the book and see for yourself.
One of the reasons why I am so excited for this book to be in everyone’s hands is that this is essentially the most collaborative project I’ve ever done.
I’ve given everyone something which isn’t finished, which people get to take, edit, color in, rip apart, spill stuff over and make their own.
Also, if you’ve never been, hopefully this will make you want to visit Lahore.
